A simple, practical leisure complex

The Dourdou that runs past this village is not the same as the one in Bozouls, further south: it is the Dourdou de Conques, which flows below the cottage before joining the Lot near Grand-Vabre. In Saint-Cyprien-sur-Dourdou, rather than relying on the river itself, we recommend the municipal pool first and foremost: a 25-metre infinity pool, a paddling pool for little ones, and a grassy beach to lay your towels in the shade. It is our favourite option with young children, so you don't have to keep an eye on the water level or the current.

Opening times, prices and what you can do there

The complex opens from late May on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, then every day from early July to early September, usually from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm. Allow around €3.30 for an adult and €1.80 for a child, modest prices that make it an easy outing to repeat several times during your stay. Besides swimming, the site also offers aqua aerobics and beach volleyball: enough to fill part of the day without having to move on to anything else. We advise checking the exact opening times before you go, as the schedule can vary slightly from one season to the next.

Our advice: an outing that is enough on its own

It is one of the simplest outings we recommend, precisely because it requires no particular organisation: no booking, no equipment to bring, just swimsuits and towels. We like to suggest it for a whole afternoon, with nothing else squeezed in: between swimming, the lawn for lazing about and perhaps a game of beach volleyball, the day fills up quickly without you noticing. The village itself, with the Dourdou running through it, is also nice for a gentle stroll after your swim, especially along the stretch of the GR 62 that passes right through it, which we describe in our article on the trails around the cottage.
